About Us

Clean Out the Pantry.org was developed through a coordinated effort by 4 food allergy parents from Buffalo, New York – Chris & Tom Popek, Chad & Deb Stewart. The families met through a local play group, further brought together by their children’s allergies. Each family felt there was something more to be done to help others cope with the news of food allergies and to enhance their every day lives.

This goal of this site is to share the knowledge we have gained upon this journey. Whether the knowledge be gained by another family or by ours, it is a useful piece of the food allergy puzzle. Please share your experiences, good or bad, they help to expand our world!

Since www.CleanOutThePantry.org hit the net, October 31, 2008, we have grown into a 501(c)3 Not-for-profit organization named Food Allergy Support Services, Inc.We continue to add to our knowledge base through additional posts, Facebook and Twitter updates.  Christmas 2009 we partnered with  Child & Adolescent Services to provide counseling to families, parents or children who were having a difficult time dealing with food allergies, or just needed a compassionate ear, throughout the holiday season and beyond.

Over the next year, we plan to grow our programs through research and development of funding streams.
